An alternative way to tour Florence’s city center and admire as many iconic attractions as possible in a truly special way is by riding a Florentine gondola along the Arno River. This fantastic seated experience allows travelers to enjoy the wonders of Florence from an original and unique point of view. But what exactly is the barchetto? It’s a wooden boat whose shape recalls the Venetian gondola and was once used to transport materials for the construction of the city walls along the river. Today, only four original barchetti still sail the Arno. Joining this tour means enjoying an extraordinary opportunity to admire some of the true gems of the Tuscan capital with an exceptional local guide, uncovering curiosities and secrets about the palaces lining their banks. It’s a new way to discover Florence from a completely different perspective. Aboard your barchetto, you will pass under the world-famous Ponte Vecchio, the Old Bridge, watching the iconic Florentine palazzos parade before your eyes. A glass of Prosecco completes the experience as you take in the splendor of Florence at sunset, when the city is bathed in ochre and red hues—a perfect setting to capture views you’ve never seen before.
Note:
The tour is available from May 1st to September 30th.
Please note that if the boat experience is cancelled due to bad weather, it will be replaced with a 2-hour walking tour and the rate will be adjusted accordingly.
An aperitif on board is available for an additional charge, starting from € 40,00 per person.
