Montalcino is a little and medieval-shape town located on the top of a hill south of Siena, immersed in the breathtaking Val d’Orcia natural park and known all over the world for the production of its precious Brunello di Montalcino wine. Brunello production is a long process and you have to be patient: before you can drink it, it must age for a minimum of 5 years, 2 of which must take place in oak barrels. The result is a superior quality wine, with an intense perfume, with the ability to age well for long periods of time. First visit of the day will be Podere Le Ripi, biodynamic winery in the surrounding area of Montalcino. During your private visit you will learn how music can influence the quality of wine and how effective building a winery with natural products can be. Lunch will be served in a terrace overlooking the hills while tasting the best bottles of the properties. Your chef will be the Michelin starred Massimo Rossi from “Il Silene” restaurant. Second stop will be CastelGiocondo, owned by the Frescobaldi family since year 1100. Improve your wine knowledge and taste different vintages of Brunello di Montalcino. Thanks to its position you can see a vast territory, stretching from Siena to Mount Amiata: rolling hills dotted with colored flowers, olive groves, stunning white country roads, typical cypress trees and of course vineyards everywhere you turn.
