The village of Bolgheri, not far from the coast in western Tuscany, is set in the countryside between olive groves and vineyards, while the town is characterized by fascinating medieval architectures. As well as charming artisan workshops and famous delightful restaurants, Bolgheri is home to many fine DOC wines. Bolgheri wine region is renowned worldwide, favored by unique characteristics of the soil and a microclimate that is both dry, sunny and moderately windy, perfect for Bordeaux grape varieties. Even if wines from this area became famous in recent times, beyond any doubt they made their way in the enological panorama not only in Italy. First stop will be Argentiera, placed on the hilltop overlooking the seacoast. Visit the winery and eat amazing quality food while tasting their wines. Second stop will be Ornellaia, probably the most eminent winery located in this fantastic land, producer of some of the most known “Super Tuscan” wines.
