AVIGNONESI WINE TOUR

This famous winery is named after the Avignonesi family, the founders of the original estate, but since 2009 the owner is a woman from Belgium: Virginie Saverys. She revolutionized the production, introducing organic and biodynamic farming methods to craft peculiar, genuine wines with a strong character. Avignonesi wines definitely express the richness and beauty of the Montepulciano territory. These people respect Montepulciano area traditions, where wine has been produced for centuries, but they wish to contribute to its future and to be the finest representative of its heritage they can. Avignonesi winery experience starts with a visit to the estate vineyards to understand the importance of terroir. Then we will move to the ageing cellars and the Vinsantaia, concluding with a four-course wine-paired gourmet meal in the elegant and panoramic Foresteria. Most of the year the lunch will be served on our panoramic terrace (it depends mostly on weather conditions). The menu, created by winery Chef Luca Biancucci features seasonal, organic dishes with locally sourced products, many of which come from their biodynamic vegetable garden. They will serve to you their best quality wines: Il Marzocco Chardonnay Toscana IGT, La Tonda Sangiovese Toscana IGT, Grandi Annate Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG, Desiderio Merlot Toscana IGT, Grif Sangiovese – Cabernet Sauvignon Toscana IGT, 50&50 Toscana IGT and typical dessert wines such as Vin Santo di Montepulciano DOC, Occhio di Pernice Vin Santo di Montepulciano DOC.
