What to see in Siena
Piazza del Campo
Piazza del Campo is considered among the largest and most beautiful medieval squares, which are preserved and make up the heart of city life. This square is famous for being the place where, twice a year, the Palio of Siena takes place, the famous horse race, in which the jockeys belonging to the various districts of the city challenge each other.
Siena Cathedral is an attractive and spectacular building, both inside and out. You can admire the church as well as the baptistery and the crypt, we suggest you to climb the “Panorama del Duomo”, a viewpoint from which you can have the best views of the city.
Via Bianchi di Sopra
Via Banchi di Sopra is one of the medieval axis of the city, along with Via di Città, it is one of the main commercial arteries of Siena and one of the streets most frequented by tourists.
Palazzo Pubblico is the Historic site of the City Council, it is one of the most emblematic places in Siena. With a facade that combines brick and white marble, it has an 88-meter high tower, from which you can enjoy excellent views of the city.
Church of San Domenico
The Church of San Domenico dates back to the 13th century and was remodelled to give it a Goth-ic style, it is a sober brick-built temple, located in the upper area of the city’s historic center.
