Rome needs no introduction. Rome is the eternal city, cradle of western civilization and capital of Christianity. This magical city reveals itself to the eyes of tourists as a concentration of art, history, architecture and that for three centuries continues to have no rivals among the favorite destinations of international tourism. Rome is a city that really offers everything, a real outdoor museum where, wherever you look, you can admire traces of a millennial history and culture. The city borders with Vatican City, home of the Catholic Church, where the Ba-silica of Saint Peter and the Vatican Museums are located, which house masterpieces such as the Sistine Chapel frescoed by Michelangelo.
There are endless things to do and see in Rome. Usually the most common route is the one that goes from the Colosseum to the Vatican, from Piazza di Spagna to many other symbolic places of the Capital. Next to the Colosseum, the Imperial Forums were the heart of political life in Rome and a magical place to visit. The Arch of Constantine is one of the most impressive monuments of ancient Rome. It is located near the Colosseum and its surface tells, through reliefs and sculptures, the exploits and triumphs of the emperor. In Rome one of the most popular shows of antiquity was the chariot races, which took place in the Circus Maximus, where you can stop for an afternoon break. The Ara Pacis is then one of the best preserved Roman monuments of the capital. The altar, dedicated to Augustus, is located in a dedicated museum, right next to the remains of the emperor’s mausoleum. The Foro Boario is also worth a visit. The archaeological area is located next to the Tiber and hosts important temples, that of Portuno and Ercole. For those who love art, we also recommend a visit to the Capito-line museums and the Pantheon, not to mention St. Peter’s Square and its majestic Basilica.
