Siena is where the most Italian iconic folkloristic event take place: The world famous Palio.

Palio is a historic competition that takes place 2 times a year and attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world. This is not just a historical commemoration or folk festival: this is the true core of Siena, a representation of their city and their own history through the times.

The Palio is defned by Siena 's contradas (districts): the City is in fact historically divided into the 17 Districts, which correspond to exact portions of the city. Only 10 out of 17 can compete in
the race, 7 members by right and 3 are by extraction, just a few days before the event. Palio is hosted in the famous Piazza del Campo, one of the most original Italian squares due to its architectural asymmetric structure, with its iconic and imposing Town Hall that overlooking it, together with the Torre del Mangia (Tower of Eat), also to XIV Duccio's nickname (Mr Mangia, Mr Eat), known for his earnings for food. Palio di Siena is an incredible event for those who want to know more about Siena, its districts, what really happens in the city during this event and of course, on the prize.

Participants will be able to visit the museum of the 17 districts, and some off-the-beaten path with interesting anecdotes to them. All mysteries about the most beloved Italian
competition will be revealed.
